Adriana Amaya

programs Director

Adriana Amaya serves as the Programs Director at Brother Bill’s Helping Hand, a role she has held since March 2022, where she leads innovative initiatives focused on education, workforce development, financial literacy, and community wellness. Recognized for her collaborative and community-centered leadership, Adriana has become a driving force behind impactful programs such as Homebuyer Workshops, ESL, Health and Wellness sessions, financial empowerment classes, and Pathways, a transformative job training and empowerment initiative for women. Her work reflects a unique combination of strategic vision, servant leadership, and authentic compassion for underserved communities.

In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Adriana has partnered closely with Texas Woman’s University’s Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Doctoral Capstone Programs, serving as a mentor for doctoral students over the past three years. Her ability to foster trust, advocate for dignity and equity, and challenge future leaders to think critically about service and advocacy has distinguished her as an exceptional community mentor and scholar-leader.

Before entering nonprofit leadership, Adriana built a successful career in radio broadcasting, where she created and hosted public affairs programs that amplified the voices of community organizations and promoted social awareness. Those years sharpened her gift for Spanish storytelling and communication skills she continues to use to connect communities, inspire action, and elevate marginalized voices.

Born in Monterrey, Mexico, and raised in Dallas’ Webb Chapel neighborhood, Adriana’s life journey deeply informs her passion for community empowerment. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Spanish for Global Competence, followed by a Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington—all while working full-time and raising a family. Her favorite saying, “Cuando se quiere, se puede” (“Where there’s a will, there’s a way”), reflects the perseverance, resilience, and faith that define both her personal and professional life.

A proud wife, mother, and devoted follower of Christ, Adriana believes service is not simply an occupation but a lifestyle. Beyond her work at Brother Bill’s, she also faithfully pastors a Spanish-speaking congregation at Webb Chapel, serving the very neighborhood where she grew up and continuing her lifelong commitment to faith, empowerment, and community transformation.
