Youth and Children’s program coordinator

Claire Maxwell joined Brother Bill’s Helping Hand in June 2026, where she helps support and coordinate youth programming. Her role includes working with the After School Program and summer camps, planning events, and identifying new opportunities to expand programs for children and families in West Dallas. Before joining BBHH, Claire worked in education and public health programs throughout the Dallas area.

Claire earned her undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University, where she studied Applied Physiology and Health Management alongside Early Childhood Education. She recently earned her Master of Public Health from UT Southwestern. Her background in both education and public health has given her a unique perspective on child development and the broader factors that influence the health and well-being of children, families, and communities.

Claire’s connection to BBHH began as an intern during the summer of 2023. That experience showed her that she could combine her passions for education, public health, and serving others. She was especially drawn to BBHH’s commitment to building meaningful relationships with neighbors and caring for the whole family rather than simply meeting one need.

Claire grew up knowing God, but her faith deepened through some of the more difficult seasons of her life. While navigating a chronic illness throughout high school, she saw God work through the people He placed in her life—people who continually pointed her back to Him and reminded her that she was never walking through those seasons alone. As she has grown older, her relationship with Christ has continued to deepen and shape the way she serves others.

Claire loves trying new things and is always looking for a new hobby. Recently, she took up needlepoint and has her sights set on learning how to churn her own butter!

Fun Fact: Claire is always ready to try something new—even if it means making her own butter from scratch!
