Dusty Russ

Assistant Grocery Store Coordinator

Dusty Russ joined Brother Bill’s Helping Hand in June 2024 and serves as a vital part of the Grocery Store team. Before coming to BBHH, Dusty ran a butcher shop and restaurant in the Dallas Farmers Market, bringing with him a strong work ethic and deep experience in food service.

Dusty holds a food handler’s license, forklift certification, and GED, and he is a proud graduate of the Men of Nehemiah program. His journey to BBHH began three years before he joined the staff—he first walked through the doors as a volunteer and instantly connected with the heart of the mission and the people serving the West Dallas community.

Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, Dusty’s story is one of powerful transformation. After 27 years of addiction and 13 years spent in and out of prison, he has now been clean for over a year and a half. His faith has played a central role in that transformation. “God saved me,” he says simply—and it’s that redemption that fuels his desire to give back and serve others with compassion and hope.

When he’s not working, Dusty enjoys cooking up Southern favorites like crawfish étouffée and fried fish.
