Ivan Esquivel

clinic director

Ivan Esquivel is the Clinic Director for Brother Bill’s Helping Hand, where he oversees all clinic operations and ensures a positive patient experience. Since joining Brother Bill’s in 2018, Ivan has leveraged his over 10 years of healthcare experience to launch innovative initiatives addressing diabetes and hypertension. Notably, he played a key role in implementing the CareSignal and Produce Prescription programs, which have collectively reduced A1C levels in diabetes patients by over 25% within four years.

Ivan earned his Community Health Worker (CHW) Certification from Texas A&M in 2016. Prior to his work at Brother Bill’s, he spent two years with Baylor Scott & White, where he was part of the Innovative Care Team, a grant-funded project under the Deerbrook Charitable Trust, a department within Baylor. There, Ivan helped launch a Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) program to assess needs among the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) population. He has since applied those skills at Brother Bill’s, implementing a version of SDOH through the CareSignal texting platform.

Ivan studied community health at Tarrant County College and is deeply passionate about improving access to care for the uninsured. His long-term goal is to oversee his own nonprofit community health center.
