Riqui Villarreal

Pleasant Grove Site Director

Riqui Villarreal joined Brother Bill’s Helping Hand in summer 2023 as the Pleasant Grove Site Director. His position was born out of BBHH’s partnership with A+ Charter Schools and Texas Health Resources to create a pantry located at Inspired Vision Academy Secondary in Pleasant Grove. The project provides a resource center which includes a food pantry modeled after the BBHH grocery store to serve the school community and beyond. It is the first of its kind in Dallas County.

Riqui is a Dallas native who grew up in Oak Cliff and now lives in West Dallas with his wife Esther and 3 children, Emory, Elio and Ever. After graduating from St. Mark’s School of Texas, he earned his BA in Christian Education and Sociology from Wheaton College and pursued graduate studies in Recreation and Sports Management through the University of Illinois. Before coming to BBHH, his professional experience included work in youth ministry, education, parks and recreation and real estate. Currently, Riqui is also enrolled at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary studying Urban Ministry. He is excited to serve neighbors and share his experience and expertise in his role at BBHH.

In his time away from work, you can find Riqui outside in nature, usually at the behest of his North Texas Master Naturalist wife, coaching youth wrestling or baseball, or relaxing at home with his family, which is probably his favorite thing to do. He’s active in his church, All Saints Dallas, as well as a lifelong Texas Rangers fan who can finally feel some peace and relief after seeing them win the 2023 World Series.
