Wes Keyes
CHief Executive Officer
In May of 2017, Wes Keyes was called to serve as the CEO of Brother Bill's Helping Hand. After two decades of working in Dallas and Oak Cliff, Wes is more passionate than ever about sharing the love of Christ and equipping our neighbors with the resources they need to fight poverty in their community. Wes is honored to lead the incredible team at Brother Bill’s Helping Hand.
Under his leadership, BBHH’s work has expanded dramatically. The medical charity clinic now serves more than 1,100 patients annually and has grown into a vital hub for community health, built through partnerships with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) and many other hospital systems across Dallas. These collaborations provide neighbors with access not only to primary care, but also specialty care, preventative programs, and chronic disease management—ensuring families receive whole-person care close to home.
Beyond healthcare, BBHH operates four client-choice food pantries, providing healthy groceries to thousands of families each year. Together with these pantries, the organization now manages a network of eight total service sites, which also include two community gardens, an after-school program, and an eye clinic. Wrap-around support extends further through adult education programs such as ESL and job training, mental health counseling, and youth enrichment camps and classes that strengthen families across Dallas. This holistic approach addresses physical, emotional, spiritual, and economic well-being.
Wes’ nonprofit experiences have led him to work with impoverished communities in Waco, Dallas, Rural Mississippi, Haiti, Turkey, Guatemala, and various other countries and cities for over 20 years. He received his BA in Religion and Spanish from William Carey University in Mississippi and his Master’s Degree from Baylor’s George W. Truett Seminary.
Wes also currently serves as the District 1 Homelessness Commissioner as well as on the Advisory Board for the Diana Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University. He formerly served as Board President of the Well Community and has chaired several committees through his church and other civic organizations.
In his spare time, he enjoys all Baylor athletics, the outdoors, and spending time with his Winnetka Heights and Oak Cliff neighbors. Wes and his wife Beth live in North Oak Cliff along with their two children, Sarah and Liam, all of whom love being involved with Brother Bill’s Helping Hand.
