Darnetta Forteau

Darnetta Forteau is the Director of Admissions at St. Philip’s School and Community Center in Dallas, Texas. In this role, she has successfully increased school enrollment year-over-year for the past 3 years, she launched a Key Zip Code initiative that is focused on improving academic and behavioral outcomes for students living in the South Dallas area and helped plan the extension of their middle school program to include 7th and 8th grade. In her previous school, Mrs. Forteau’s helped launch a vision committee to address the culture of the school, implement new student leadership programs, and pioneer a new internship program for graduating seniors in partnership with their local transit company (Dallas Area Rapid Transit). Most notably, she introduced a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) initiative within the school in partnership with the Momentous Institute and YOUTH180. The Momentous Institute provided teacher training and direction for the launch of the program and YOUTH180 provided counseling and resources for students and families. Mrs. Forteau has also served as the chair of the education committee for the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce which helped bridge a gap between her local public, private, and charter schools. 

Mrs. Forteau has a Master’s in Mental Health and Wellness with an Emphasis in Family Dynamics and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Behavioral Health. Mrs. Forteau and her husband, Damion, have been married for 18 years and have 2 daughters, 11-year-old Margot, and 12-year-old Quinn. They love to travel and enjoy foreign languages. They are currently learning to speak Korean.
