Laurel Green

Youth and Children Program's director

Laurel Green has served as the Youth and Children’s Program Director at Brother Bill’s Helping Hand for over six years. Originally from Auburn, Alabama, she holds a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University and a Teacher’s Certification from Southern Methodist University.

Her journey in nonprofit work began during college through Our House, a Christian organization serving families in public housing. There, Laurel helped design curriculum and academic support systems rooted in both educational growth and spiritual development. That experience—and later, her time with Teach for America, where she taught multiple grade levels in South Oak Cliff—ignited her passion for holistic care of the whole child: mind, body, and soul.

At BBHH, Laurel launched and leads the After School Program, now entering its fifth year, and oversees all youth summer programming. She also plans two of the organization’s largest annual events: the Back to School Beach Bash and the Christmas Celebration. Her greatest joy is creating spaces where children feel known, loved, and pointed to Jesus.

Laurel lives in Dallas with her husband and daughter, and their family is actively involved in Highland Park Presbyterian Church.
